How many chams are you going to feed from them?,

you need a fair few, i have 70 ish females, and about 10-15 males, and they are breeding loads ,I reckon i have about 400+plus small ones its hard to tell, i have left them not used any, going to leave it for another 2 months at leasat, and then should have enough to start feeding2-3 chams hopefuly.

Dubia's are great! I feed them to my dragons and gecko's and now my mantis has grown a taste for them. If you find someone local it probably wouldn't cost too much. I personally sell them (to locals only, sorry) a breeding pair and 100 mixed nymphs, normally large about to molt in to adults unless stated otherwise, for $20 and then a extra female and extra 50 nymphs for $10 more.

Some nice advice about growing a colony well is to forget about them...without forgetting about them. I didn't touch my colony for 4 months and I have thousands, I may have to split the colony soon.

Hope this helps!

I have 3 chameleons, i was planning on setting and forgeting for a while, since i still have loads of crickets, but i dont know where to get them i was thinking of getting 100 probably 25 males to 75 females. but from some places i have checked they are high dollar.....

Yea getting a pure starter of adults will cost a pretty penny, males are not bad because, at least in my colony, the species is male heavy. Females are whats pricey not only are you taking a large amount of breeders from a colony.

I would also try theroachranch.com or theroachguy.com

I got 50 mixed adults with a 20% overage for $29.00 total from Lou at dragon breeders. They were all perfectly healthy when they arrived and there were more females than males (about 2 to 1) I have looked around and have done the research for starting a colony and this was the best deal I could find. They ship out of PA

Like i said dragonbreeder is great, he is on this site i have ordered from him 2 times already and my dubias are breeding like rabbits. I do get my food from theroachguy.com because he uses other ingredients besides dog food and cat food. I will make my own once my colony gets to about 4,000 or so.

I bought almost 300 dubias from her for like $35 or $40 shipped from FL to VA. and they are reproducing like crazy. the mating adults were so big it made me wanna puke when they came falling out of the box. they were def ready to breed and have been doing so rapidly. I had babies to feed my 5 month old ambanja a week after they got here. shes very good on pricing and not stingy. much better than the mom and pop pet store i was having to drive 30 minutes to and pay about $.60 a roach :( i am a happy girl now tho!
