I want to build my little guy a new home as he is in a small viv and i feel so sorry for him but is my idea madness or could it work?
this is my plan i want to buy this (im hoping the link works if not its the cream canvas douple for £32 lol
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8750747/Trail/searchtext>WARDROBE.htm
i take the canvas off attach a mesh fencing to the whole thing and cover the floor so it isnt just woodern slats and make a door i can then attach the uv light to the top and a basking light at the but where the top shelf is so it reflects down so he has a comfy basking spot and then place the canvas back over
could this work?

Why would you want to put the canvas back over? Seems to me it would just get wet and dirty.

What would you use to separate the cham from the basking light?

Personally, it seems a bit pricey. Since you're still going to have to fork out for the mesh and the door, I'm sure it would be cheaper and simpler just to construct the wooden frame yourself.

the basking light would be just above the top shelf so the wodern slats would keep him from touching it. i think it would be $55 for the wardrobe and about $92 for the chicken wire i would need but the flexarium i origanly wanted was £90 so about $167 and to be honest i dont personally think its worth the money as if i can do this it may work out a little more expensive but the wardrobe is far bigger the messurements are (H)174, (W)116, (D)54cm and i can make it alot nicer on the eye and i think it would be alot nicer for him.to make a door all i would need to do is buy a bit of wood make a frame get some hindges and use some of the chicken wire i allready have so that would be prittie simple.i was also thinking about putting a humidifyer in one of the bottem shelvs and i would net that off so he couldn't get to it.the only thing thats gonna really cost is all the stuff i want inside like tree bark plants etc.the canvas is a obtional thing but i thought it would help keeping the bugs inside and its easyly cleanable

darn any idea's on a good material i could use i was thinkin of chicken wire and then a mesh net fabric over that

Madness? THIS. IS. SPARTA!

Sorry, had to do it.

I'm a huge do-it-yourself kind of guy, but for the amount you'd spend on all the supplies needed to convert this thing you should be able to get a really nice aluminum mesh cage.

a 300 fan aye lol

well i've been about n totalled it up n its actually really cheep suprisingly cheep infact lol
so as long as ppl think that the set up sounds ok i'll go through with it

the basking light would be just above the top shelf so the wodern slats would keep him from touching it.

Are the slats small enough so that the cham can't squeeze thru it and get to the light?

I'm looking at the pic of the wardrobe & the pic of the cham, looks like your cham is still pretty small & those slats look wide.

to help prevent him touching any of the lights i will be putting chickin wire across as well so he dont get up to any mischief lol
