This is becoming an addiction!

I can easily see how I'm starting to be addicted to chams. I've read so much and still learning something new either online or on this site! Too bad I don't do as much research in school as I do with chams! My baby panther is just so interesting and such a character. I can only imagine that after college I'll be getting another male and start my own little collection ;) I've to say next time I get a cham, I think I'm going to go for an adult, or at least over 6 months, these little babies make me nervous. Then again, I'm going to have a baby cage once my cham moves up to a bigger cage...oh the addiction!

haha welcome to the forums! I know exactly what you mean =D I love it!! Even learning more about them makes them so much more loveable.

somebody slap me!!!
just talked to Liddy and ordered an Iron Man baby, I will pick him up in about 4 weeks. and 4 weeks after that I am picking up a Sinatra male baby from her as well!.
Guess I better get to building 3 new 2x3x4's!!! :)

I think I already became addicted in the 7th grade when my teacher had a veiled in her classroom...he was very agressive and bit some kids. I sort of wondered what my teacher was thinking have a chameleon in a classroom with 30 rambunctious kids. It took me months to gain his trust and respect (I'd never seen or heard of a cham), but by the end of the year he'd relax on my shoulder while I was doing homework in class. She was going to give him to me before I tamed him then decided to keep him.

I moved to Oregon that summer and to this day, 7 years later, wished I could've brought him with me. By now I'm sure he passed away...he never received any supplements and still had no mbd. He was a fantastic chameleon...maybe the next one will be a veiled, then again I like the nosys too ;)

LOL! I see you have horses too? I do as well, a 3 year old dutch gelding by Contango. These chams are expensive...but nothing like warmbloods ;)

yay! a fellow horseperson!, and a warmblood at that!
arent they just amazing, big black money pits!!
i have not been without a horse for 48 years!!
but you know what they say....
a gurls just gotta have her horse...and chams!

do you compete? what state do you live in?

Well I can agree with money! I'm so lucky to have parents that support me...well through college at least! Buying is easy but between boarding, training, and TIME, we might as well start throwing our money into a pit.

I do compete but have had lots of injuries that have sidelined me, finally I have my own young horse I started so hopefully we can show next year! And I live in the sunny state of Oregon

H/j or dressage?
I too suffered a tough accident last Dec. But it was a really good thing I got busted up because they found I have a heart in really bad shape, so I get open heart surgery. But if I hadn't fallen, I would have just keeled over dead, in about a year or so!. Can't do that..5 yo son, horse, chams!!!
What injury to you?

I used to do hunters but switched in 05', now I do dressage...always learn something new as well.

I always had some equine injury from suspensory to stifles to who even knows. Fingers crossed my young guy will be sound forever...I need money to spend on chams ;) These days I'm having some sort of back issue that causes awful headaches, prolly did something to my back from being bucked off at some point! So MRI for me next week.

So sorry you had such a bad fall! Then again, it was a good thing!

I've my horse and dogs plus my cham...don't think I can convince my mom for another cham until I move out. Plus she's not too fond of my super small crickets that happen to escape. It's amazing how quickly they can be upstairs one second and down in the kitchen another ;)

I too only dressage anymore, I guess for about the past 8 years. I think dressage and chams are sorta the same? Lots of time, patience, dedication and money.
I seem to be having a difficult time getting past 3rd level. Partly my horse and her old injury, and I think some weird mental block on my part. My trainer of 6 years is really being patient. But I think it has to be tiring for her, dealing with me sometimes:)
I hope your young horse stays healthy and you too! Pm me a pic if you think of it

IKR!! too bad I couldnt fit one in a buick XD XD Ill just have to stick with my reptiles... so much smaller and accesible XD

I want you guys to know that I had baby ambilobes hatch in late jan.
(20 of 21 eggs hatched). One had a funny shaped mouth and a funny back foot.not sure why.And seemed to like people. We did not know his little life would turn out.He grew like a weed and became the one we all watched.Michelle posted a ad on CL looking for a cham. I sent her a message telling her about our little Egor. The last one. She came over to see him with her family. The whole family got that little twinkle in there eyes. And michelle found her cham. So Im wondering how many chams will be in that house a few years from now... I cant wait untill little egor turns into a swan..Thanks for joining us michelle!! i told you,You would learn tons here:D curt

Thanks Curt! I'm pretty sure I'll have another in no time...now how to convince my parents? ;) Well I think one will hold me over through college, then I'm pretty sure there will be a few more in the next few years. I'd like to have a little collection of my own :D

I can't wait till my guy is all grown, he's just starting to show a little green but you can't see it when I take pics. Hopefully in the next month I'll be able to post some new pics. I love the forum, it's so helpful!
