just wondering if anybody has one for a pet, i have always like them and they look amazing

pretty sure they feed mainly on ants so that wouldnt be a problem in my garden, ive never seen one for sale

they have been sold in the UK a few times not many people do actually own them as they will either only eat ant or pinhead black crickets, so its hard for most to get enough of either of them to keep them, but ive seen about 8 forsale in the last year at around £100 each

Sorry Andy but you are mistaking a Horny Toad (Phrynasoma sp.) with a Thorny Devil (Moloch horridus). The Thorny Devil is not kept in captivity outside of Australia legally and within Australia, only a couple zoos have them.

hmmm ok  they looked more like the moloch horridus tho

One or two folk do have molochs outside zoo's chris, but very very few and the husbandry is a closely gaurded secret.
I might add they are all kept in the natural range due to diet.
The minute someone manages to succesfully raise colonys of their preferred ant species,
and enough to sustain them, I expect they will be attempted by more experienced keepers.
Personally Id give it a shot, They are especially unique.
Ive no idea how anyone confuses them with anything else, vague similarity granted.
I thinks it's just a matter of common names being confused, 'Thorny' v's 'Horny' :D
