Thoughts On Dragon Stand Enclosures?

Hey, everyone! I currently have a juvenile F. pardalis who is in a 16" x 16" x 30". I know he is going to quickly outgrow this enclosure, so I'm looking into getting a larger on order ASAP so that I can start preparing it for him early on. I was curious if anyone here has any experience with Dragon Stand Enclosures? Their website makes it seem like their products are quite nice, at least more so than the Reptibreeze are. While I spare no expense for my little baby, I just wanted to make sure these enclosures are actually worth the investment.

I own two. Best cage on the market in my opinion. The dragon ledges are the best damn invention for screen cages I've ever seen. The materials the cage is made from are not cheap either. Ask the company about the materials, rust proof etc etc, unlike the cheap cages.

Also talk to Todd at lightyourreptiles.com on this site for lighting. The guy is hands down the best source for zoo lighting around. I use his stuff too.

I own the reptibreeze! Very flimsy weak aluminum. Slants and bends way to easily. But I just got it to start out. Here soon I'll probably be getting a large dragon strand as well

I agree! I owned a few Reptibreeze enclosures for my previous Chameleon, and I always thought they felt incredibly flimsy and brittle. They did their job, but I would like to have something nicer this go around.

With dragonstrand, you pay for quality and it shows. I chose the large breeder series to help retain mist and humidity.

That's what I want to hear. Like I said, I'm more than happy to spend the money I just want to know I'm getting what I'm paying for!

I have not found anyone selling cages on par with the Dragon Strand, but you pay for that quality. They have a well deserved corner on the market. As far as lighting, do some research, there are lots of good brands. Odyssey lights are the same as other much more expensive brands some owners swear by but at a much lower price for the exact same fixture. Just do your homework and be sure to price a good UVB bulb if you need one. Price it out and see if the savings is worth it.

I know you said your happy to spend the money, but there's a fine line between spending money and just throwing it away to get a name brand on it. Your cham doesn't care if you spent $200 on his stuff or $500. If you literally don't care about money, just ignore me.

all the cages I've found that are (24x24x48) seem to be the same price as dragon strand if not more expensive. But yeah brand doesn't always mean quality

Well, you have all made this decision very easy. I'll probably be ordering one tomorrow. My little guy probably won't be in it for at least a month, probably two. I'd like to get some plants going and get everything set up way ahead of time though.

make sure you get the dragon ledges...they are mounts that attach to the frame. This not only makes the frame way more sturdy you can support plants and branches from them so nothing touches the ground.. also keeps you from poking holes in the cage.

Just chiming in that I have a dragonstrand with my panther and I will not consider getting another type of cage. These are light, durable, and well constructed. And the dragon ledges are fantastic for mounting anything with weight as it transfers it to the frame instead of the screen.
