Why does my veiled chameleon bulge its throat ?

my Cham is new i just got her today "first time caretaker" but i notice that when i turn on the heat lamp stood directly under the lights beam and started to bulge her throat repeatedly.

i just wanted to know if that was regular or if my cham was trying to say it was to hot or what.
since you guys have experience i wanted to ask for your advice.not only on the bulging but whatever other pointers you may have on taking care of Chams, Thanks guys !!!

Do u mean he is puffing up his body and the throat area and sometimes open her mouth right after she did that?

She's mad it's a warning action to give her some space. She's still settling in to her new home. Give her some time to get comfortable.

Like Lathis said, it's defensive. She's trying to make herself look bigger and more threatening. Lateral compression (squeezing in her sides and flattening like a pancake), is another common behavior. She'll settle in, though.

Thanks a lot guys I would respond to each individual post but short on time.

I think she was asking for space since she was only in her home for about 10 to 15 mins and I couldn't get enough of the little guy but when she started puffing it was as soon as I turn on her heat bulb so I was also assuming to hot maybe ?
I said that cuz the temp was already 84 and I turned the lamp on just to test the temp for her basking area
