so I'm having a had time finding a system. I reached out to Mistking to make one. Anyone other than me interested in having sound effects and flashing lights eveverytime your tank mists? I can't believe there are set ups like when your at grocery store getting produce am I the only one that has seen and heard the misting system go off? I'm asking the produce guy next time I go grocery shopping. Anyone got any links? I hope the only options doesn't cost like thousands of dollars?

I am confused what you are after? You want the sound and the lighting that makes thunder. I have also been looking for one that does it on a timer. Issues I see however is most wont do it on a timer set (that I have found) except maybe two, I am not sure if it would or not.

They wont do sound, you would have to add that on a separate system and have it also on a timer. However there is LED systems that will achieve what you ask. However!, your UVB light would still be on as would the basking light, you would need to turn these off to get the effect. Which I wouldn't suggest, at least not on an every day timer setup.

This is one of the LED setups I have been looking at, it has 1 flaw that makes me continue my search but it is 300. There is cheaper ones though that also do it.

The Mist King LEDs also do it. Here they are, http://www.mistking.com/Jungle-Hobbies-Advanced-LED-Lighting-System.html.

Now if I may be so bold, Mist King needs to take a look around. As there is much better LED systems for the same price, theres may have been a good deal when they released it, however its size its not worth anywhere near the 400 they ask. If you want a ton of light with some Cree Leds (like the MK one) I would go with this, https://www.aquaticlife.com/light-f...ert-series-xs-uv-aquarium-light-fixtures.html.

Thats just me, partly because I can find tons of reviews of the AL, where as none for the MK. the reef people will drop that cash where Reptile people really dont, I dont think. I am considering the AL myself, but its pricey.

I will say if you find a good setup, for 300 or less. That has the thunder effects but more importantly to me is the Dawn/Dusk/Night on indepandant timers, with 660k reds and 6500k Whites let me know. As I have not.

The satellite pro in the vid, can do dawn/dusk but only 15 minutes of ramping and lacks the 660K.

The planted + 24/7 can also acheive what you want, but again lacks the 660k, and has set timer for when it does its Dawn/Dusk/Night and will keep the blues on all night with no way to change that, so deal breaker. (if you dont care about dawn dusk and night, and just want on off and thunder/cloudy/weather effects ect. Then check that one out its a steal.

Bask to the matter at hand, you could setup a 24/7. And set the timer to turn on music and turn off lights at misting times. However you cant program a thunder time, I have been looking for such the only 2 I think may be able is the AQ XS pro and the MK one, which are both high wattage Crees that are large.

The Aquatic Life Edge is prime pick ATM.

You could also set your leds to go off with the UVB and basking lights, and get a lighting storm led set (that does that and only that) and set that to come on.

However ya its easy, easy lighting to program thunder like that.

This is OT kinda and from my other hobby but if you want to see some cool lighting effects check this out :).

I have a Timed RGB LED Controller on my Varanus Acanthurus enclosure to do a sunset/sunrise... It's not dynamic but you can program a lighting schedule.
If you can match it up with a different timer for sound and mysting you should already be there.
You could possibly even connect CH 4 / CH 5 on the LED controller to a Relay that can switch the sound/mysting on or off.
I'm not an electrician but I think it could work.

Here's a link to the controller I use:

My local Shoprite's produce section has a storm system in it right before it starts misting the veggies you hear thunder and see lightning flashes. I would talk to your local super market produce manager or Store Operations manager to get the info of the company that installed it they would be able to get that for you they need it incase there system breaks or malfunctions.

So are you thinking something like this?

Some reptile hobbyists are doing awesome things with the Raspberry Pi. I've been wanting to look into it myself once I've upgraded some of my reptiles into larger enclosures.

You know and this just crossed my mind. This may look cool to you, but how about to a cham? They cant hear so the sound is of no effect, but the flashing lights may stress them or worse. Some people have seizures due to strobing lights like that.

The Dawn/Sunrise/Sunset/Dusk features are great however. My idea was to combo that with a Spyder Stat. It also has a Sunrise/Sunset. So Lights come on at 8:00AM, but they are blue for 15 mins, Then they switch to lightly colored for 15 mins then get a little brighter, they keep gradually brightening. At 8:30, the UVB turns on, at 9:00 the Basking light starts its ramp up, same idea at night but in reverse.

Also I think Klowery has the best representation of what you can actually achieve. Some light from basking and UVB already present, with thunder added.

Thank you all for your much appreciated and valued info I actually found a really nice led system with WIFI connection built in timers sunset sunrise cloud and lightning simulation for about $130 on eBay. All I need to find next is Thunder sound system. So no one has seen this while at grocery store when the produce section is about to get misted the lighting and thunder goes off I think to warn customers they might be getting sprayed.

When dimming LED lights do keep in mind that a reptile's eyes work differently from a human's eyes.
Dimmed LED light that looks steady to us may appear to be flashy to them and could be disturbing to them...
(much like filming your LED light on the 120FPS mode of your mobile (if it has it)).
This may differ between species of reptile as well.

LED burning at full strength shouldn't be a problem.
I don't see a problem in lightning effects since it will also happen in nature... I just think it may eventually start to bore you :)

I would convey caution with this. If you could link your LEDs that would be cool. However I would not rely solely on them to grow the plants. They likely have a low par rating if they can achieve what you want for that price. In that case I would add a t5ho grow light or 2, that come on during your prime day sun.
