i noticed my wc jackson jerking his head from side to side like ticking idk is this something i should be worried about? and he was also basking with his mouth open is this a problem?

Is there a Jackson playboy lying around for him to view? :p

And it's too close to his basking perch, raise it 5 inches, unless it's raised enough and the ambient temp is too high....

i dont have a light i keep him outside in the sun lol is he ticking cuz hes attracting a mate? cuz i was wearing green crocs today and he was looking at my feet lol

Dose he only do this when you come around his cage? Typically Jackson’s will open there mouth and jerk their heads to ward off predators.

He will warm up to you soon, Take him out of his cage once in awhile and let him crawl on your arm and hand. He will soon learn that you aren’t a threat to him.

jackson head jerking ?

head jerking (not to be confused with trembling or shaking) is something that male xanths sometimes do, particularly if they feel threatened or that their territory is being invaded, especially by other chameleons (or even predators or other lizards). i dont know your location, but if you were in hawaii, where geckos are everywhere (and would probably be crawling on the outside of his cage), that might encourage a lot of head jerking. xanths overheat rather easily. if he is kept outside, you need to monitor your basking temps (especially if outside ambient temps are above 80*) and provide easy access to cool shaded areas jmo
