right now my i have about 2 months left on the reccomended lightbulb change for my young veiled, i currently have a 60w basking bulb and a compact 5.0 reptisun 13w. i would like to get a nicer, maybe deeper reaching uvb output as he likes to hang out in the middle of the cage alot more then not. i can spend money but i would like to get the best value as well.

some of my concerns are that he hangs out about 12 inches from the top of his 2x2x4 cage, the package on the bulb says it reaches 9 inches. im not sure if this is taking the mesh cage into account either, as i read that filters out almost 50%.

is the mega ray 100w low uvb out of the question for the 2x2x4 cage? at the 12 inch height reccomendation that should have the temps right around perfect as the temperature has started dropping here in detroit.

what flourescent setup would you reccomend for a 2x2 cage if not? if it helps he is about 5 months old.

Amazon has your back on this one.

my bad wrong bulb, http://www.amazon.com/Zilla-Desert-...UTF8&qid=1379575937&sr=8-2&keywords=t5+uvb+24

Home depot/lowes has t5ho fixtures for pretty cheap sometimes, got two 48" for 100$ without bulbs :(
the 2' version was only 30$ for a 2 lamp t5h0
2 lamp is ideal so you can have one plant bulb 6500k and the uvb.
Gives a very natural daylight color.

The 10.0 is intended for designs where the light must pass through a screen mesh or pass a distance greater than 12". And for beardy dragons and such that need intense uvb from close up.

The bulbs stay pretty cool and plants really thrive, which is weird to see in an enclosure...

Some great products out there. Here's a link to my Blog about lighting schedules. It has a description of my setup. I got it from Light Your Reptiles and I love how the Arcadia bulbs work. Todd is awesome and will help you find the best setup for your needs. [email protected]

I would definitely recommend the T5 HO bulbs. Such an improvement in the amount of light in the enclosure!
