Indeed. It's easy to blame the caretaker...I don't mean that just in a reptile sense...people like to blame the person charged with caring for the patient or animal...it's often not justified. Sometimes, there are just health issues that are either genetic or related to something early on which cannot be fixed.

I do agree that often the caretaker is blamed. I can't speak for others, but when I am the caretaker, I always blame the caretaker. I just keep thinking had I changed x or done y, something I just didn't know, all the million things that can go wrong, but it all comes back to me.:(
 
So sorry to hear about this situation you are in. The way of life can be hard sometimes... especially death. Letting go can be one of the most difficult things. =(
