So im just wondering about calcium and what is to much? I have a about 1-2 yr old male veiled chameleon i feed him well gut loaded crickets and dubia, horn worms, calcium worms, and butter worms, also small butterflies. Now i know the butter worms and calcium worms have calcium and i think the horn worms do as well. i aslo dust his crickets n dubia w calcium every feeding, so id this too much calcium for him? he also gets calcium w d3 every 2 wks as well as a multi vit. thank u!! :)

I was told you cant really overdose the calcium when I asked this question,,,as long as its the plain stuff!!!

You can OD on d3 and vit, but not calcium. If you have too much calcium they will start sneezing it out in crystal form.

Nkghtanole...can you show me the article that says that they glow CALCIUM out their noses if they get too much please?

Damn!!! I was hoping she was right because my little guy has some whiteish marks by his nose!!!!!
Should I be concerned!!????

I had read several times on the forum white nostril discharge was excess calcium. Thanks for clearing that up ferretinmyshoes!

I love the forum!

Picky eaters?

I have been dusting crickets with calcium for a while now, but my guy seems a little hesitant. He will eat them, but it is taking longer. Can you have too much dusting on the food? Just wondering.

Yeah if the crickets are too heavily dusted they can taste bad to some chams. Crickets only need to be lightly dusted so they're just a lighter shade of brown, not solid white.
