To T5 or To T8 that is the question?

I'm currently desiging a 2.5x2.5x5 vivarium and have come across an all to common dilema! (i have tried looking for threads on here but can't seem to find the 100% answer!) Should i go for T5's or T8's and would it be wise to use one or two in relation to the size of the vivarium? Also would i still need a grow light for the plants? THANKS

I would stick with the ZooMed T8s.... Not sure very many people make lamps in T5 that produce a good quality UVB.

Arcadia makes a T-5 UV a/b light.

Too bad they are not available in the states.
Word is they are very good and hold their spectrum well.

You would want just the "D3" version ...
NOT the "D3+" version.

(The D3 + (plus) version puts out 2x as much UV.
Its more of a desert reptile bulb. Unless you have a Solarmeter and can measure it so you will be able to tell if it is far enough away.)

Hi mate I am quite interested in these, as I have read they are meant to be very good, when I change my bulbs next I may change, the lot to this, But would like to find more info first,
