tongue issue

hi guys, my 5/6 month old nosy be the past 3 weeks I've noticed his tongue function has become less effective, I'm no novice to chameleons I've been keeping and breeding them successfully for the last 7 years, i noticed him shooting for pray with bad accuracy and now its at the point of him feeding like lets say a bearded dragon,

hes in a 4x2x2 full mesh viv, arcadia t5 6% and I've just replaced the tube last week too as it was around 7/8 month old.bask spot 83ish

gutloaded locust, crickets, roaches (when he wants), silkworm, wax worm(not often at all) dusted with calcium every feed, d3 2x month and reptivite 2x month. now I've pretty much had this regime the whole time with no issues what so ever over a total of around 14 panthers.

i spoke to jamie from chameloco and he said funnily enough, either one of his siblings or one of the parents had the same issue, just wandering if it could be hereditary? ill be taking him to the vets, just thought i would cup feed him allowing him to rest his tongue and maybe try to increase his fit b intake? any thought or suggestions would be much appreciated

regards ashley

cheers ill have a look at gut loading his food slightly differently and getting some of the extra vitamins inside of him
