My Ambaja's tongue it literally wrapped around a branch and is ripped out of his mouth! He was awesome when I fed him 2 hours ago. Is there anything i can do for him? All that's left in his mouth is the boney looking part.

That is not good at all,now u need to cup n hand feeding him for the rest of his life, the cham usually are pretty smart to retract their tongue ,this is a terrible accident, lets hope he wont get any secondary infection on that broken tongue ....

My jacksons male severely damaged his tongue but he is able to swallow food. It has been 3 weeks and he is slowly eating less and less. My vet suggested putting him down as ge will never be anywhere near normal and will slowly die. I have been hand feeding him.
If your cham does not have enough tongue left to be able to swallow then t h e only kind thing to do is put him down. If he can swallow then try hand feeding him. If my guy loses much more weight thenI will put him down over just watching him. Don't want to do this, but I won't let him suffer either

Any news on ur lil man?? Hope he's been seen by vet and doing OK. Please keep us updated

Have been checking back during the day to see if there is an update...I hope he is doing ok! Thinking of you because I know how I would feel if it was Izzie.:(

There have been other chameleons on here who have lost their tongues. They can live, but as others have said,. he will have to be hand fed or fed feeders that do not really move much.. They can eat like a dog and grab at worms if you set them on a branch. Maybe not the best way to live, but it is doable.
