Tongue strike range

Day before yesterday I got to see Kreacher snatch a cricket at about 12", which IM pretty sure is longer than he is (5 months old). I even took a tape measure and measured the distance afterward (he was not amused by this). I'm curious; what's the furthest away you've ever seen your chams strike from? Include age as well for reference please.

They are said to be able to reach around double their body length if I remember right.

I've seen my Parsons shoot very far, I'd guess around 2 feet. The accuracy, distance, and strength of their tongue strikes are incredible.
