I'm new to the world of chameleons and I have a panther. I'm just wondering how long their tongues are? and if there's anything I should look out for regarding his tongue?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I believe I read that it is about twice the length of their body. I'm not sure if there is anything to look for color wise, but as long as he's shooting at insects fine, I wouldn't worry too much. Beautiful little guy you have there by the way!

Wow that's amazing! And he seems to be getting on fine with shooting his tongue! No problems there! And thank you, he knows he's a looker!

Thank you! And I've done plenty of reading up and my local rep shop expert is always on hand for me.
I've read about gut loading and I'm using kale and carrot at the moment. 80-90 Fahrenheit and the light supplied to me was recommended from the store owner and also meets what I have read from here.

I've always read that their tongue musclature can stretch to those lengths, not that the structure itself is that long. Maybe I need to refresh my memory.

I read 1.5 and 2.2 x the length of their body. We may never know.....

I have seen pitures of chameleons catching bugs from distances further away than the length of their body, tail tip to nose!
