Too much time basking

Hi there, my female sterfeldi is spending too much time basking underneath the 25 watts sun glo and I don't know if this is normal or not anyone please!!

How much time is it spending under the light? I have a 5 month old male veiled and he spends approx. 5-6 hours under that light, he loves it. My female 10 month old I've only had 2 days spends a good 2-3 in the morning under the light. Most of the day they are going to bask, It's how they get vitamin D and stimulate digestion in the wild, as well as keep their body temperatures up.

they bask almost al day sometimes.

wahts your basking temp?

at 25 watts, its probably bc your cham is too cold.

Would it be different temps because he's using one of those special reptile bulbs as opposed to a house bulb? or would it be the same because it's only 25 watts?

Thanks guys for the replays the temp is around 80 and she stays in the same spot for about 6 to 7 hrs she just move back and forsward to eat and when she eats she turns in beatiful green color but goes to the same place

how are the temps in the rest of the enclosure, like at the bottom?

The thermometer shows 80 but the basking spot I guess is higher the bottom of the cage I think is maybe 75 room temp is about 70-75 and I have another bulb 26 watts exo terra 5.0 repti glo

What type of cage is she in? If it's an Exo Terra that 25 watt is fine. Any higher and it's too hot for a young Cham. If it's a screen cage it might be a little low. I would move it up to a 40 watt in that case. Glass can heat up pretty quickly. My Veiled basks a lot too. When he was little he was either under his UVB bulb (all the time) or his 25 watt basking bulb (the rest of the time). Lol.

the only reason I brought that Up is because if it is too cold for her in the rest of the cage then she might stay there to stay warm.

What kind of thermometer do you use? Those $5 ones that stick to the side of the cage are faulty. I had the Exo Terra hydrometer and thermometer. It was saying it was 80 degrees in his basking spot. I went and bought the digital ones, and apparently it was 105! I do not trust those things one bit. You should get a digital one with a probe. Exo Terra makes them and you can get them at walmart for cheaper. It could be giving you false readings. Even if its just a few degrees off. They are not accurate and I can't stress that to people enough. I don't want anyone to cook their babies. :(

Thanks again, she is in an exo terra 24x18x24 with two bulbs I'm thinking to put the third one and yes I have the sticky thermometer & hydrometer maybe I'll go for the digitals thanks!!

Thanks for the advice, because this specie is a mountain specie i was told that a temperature higher than 85 could be dangerous both thermometers shown the same temp and the male cage is 6" higher so it shouldn't be a problem but I'm gonna put and extra 26w repti glo 5.0 and see what happens 

those analog stick on thermometers are worthless in my experience....the error in their readings can be 5-10 degrees or more at times

a good point and shoot digitial thermometer can be bought under $20 nowadays and is a GREAT investment. you may find your temps aren't what you thought after you get one

I did a research in those digital thermometers and the reviews aren't that good but I'm reconsidering thanks 

Guys I think kinyonga was right the reason why she spent that much time basking is because she may be gravid I'm not 100% sure but the person how I get them from told me it's possible she is plus she is really fat so I'm gonna be a dad any time soon kind of nervous 
