too young to upgrade?

Hello guys.
I have an ambanja, ambilobe that is 4 months and a week old
And I was wondering if it was too early to upgrade his enclosure.
His enclosure at the moment is 12x18x20. Pretty small. I can't even fit any
Real live plants in there. Its too short in height. I was thinking of upgrading to
The lllreptile 18x18x36 aluminum cage and getting a ficus from there.
Thoughts, opinions?

As an adult he's going to need a 48 inch high so I'd try to wait another month or two and go with the 48 inch.

I agree with jannb wait one more month and get a 48". My 5 month old ambilobe is in a 24x24x48 and he's doing good.
