76$ later and still no idea...it was a joke. I go in she asks me some questions, has no idea what wrong with her eye. "Might be irritated, want me to rinse it?"
sure what ever... her eye is still bugging her, she will only open it if she really wants to see out of it. idk what to do- i did replace her UV lighting to tubes so if it was that we shall see in a day or two. she seems healthy, nice and colorfully, eating and drinking. i just don't know

I f I were you I wouldnt worry too much. I bet she'll grow out of it.

Were did you buy her? maybe talk to them and see what they say. You could compare her to siblings, etc.

I use a Zoomed POWERSUN 100 Watt bulb which is awesome. It provides both UVA, and UVB. But the best part is it creates heat, so thats all I have on top of the cage.

Since I have started using these bulbs all of my chameleons have looked alot better. Their colors are deeper and they seem to be happier, as well as alot more active.

HERE IS A LINK, CHECK IT OUT. GREAT RESULTS

did the vet rinse it with saline solution?
that is used to clean his eyes from debris and irritant.
UV tube reptisun 5.0 and zoomed 75 watt or 60 watt basking spot lamp is standard care. You cannot go wrong owning those two.

i realize that. im just upset that it's still irritating her. and for a light i bought a Repti Glo 5.0, they didn't have Reptisun...and it WAS a saline solution..(it ok if she swallowed some..just salt water isn't it?)

salt water is fine.

buzkill,
I notice on your profile that your occupation is: zookeeper.
Do you have any resources at the zoo? ie: reptile specialist or veterinarian that you can consult with?
Is the vet you took your cham to a reptilian vet?

i actually only work with Parrots. but my boss did own a couple pet stores- Birds & Reptiles- so I've had her to talk to. and as to the vet, i was expecting to be seeing an "exotic pet specialist" but from my impression she knew very little about the topic.

was she rubbing her eye on branches? my female jacksonii just went thru the same thing, i got very upset but wated it out and it got better, i noticed her rubbing her eye alot on the vines, then she would have the eye closed alot of the day, then it would not open unless i picked her up, etc.and even then it seemed like she was squinting. she kept it closed for a few days and woolah all eyes opened and eating good. i figured she got something in it, bumped it on a twig, etc. needed to let it heal or clean out. watch her closely, if she stops eating for a number of days then i would get concerned.

Dont worry about it? Are you crazy? If you just let this happen it could get worse...thats what happened to Louie and its a long process to get him fully healthy...Try teramycin on your chams eye.

I am not sure about this...Maybe you just need to find a Vet that specializes in exotics?????? Mine does.:D
