tough time getting crickets! Looks like we need to go to San Antonio! haha

hahaha. here I cant even get my larges from my normal suppliers and really all I have to do is take a road trip, a shovel and a few boxes to texas! haha

I wonder if the cricket disease could be spread all over from these crickets. Hmm

man I can't wait until we can get large crickets in bulks again from regular suppliers. Buying from the local pet store is killing me in price right now. I pay them for 200 what I almost pay to buy 1000 usually through my supplier.

i live down here in san antonio and this isnt the first year that we have had a cricket infestation. the scenes on the video are not even the worst of it, these crickets are everywhereeeeee. eventually they die off but in places that are semi hard to get to, and it starts to smell really bad arround that time.
if yall seriously want some crickets i might be able to work something out. how many crickets per shipment, and about how much would yall pay for them?

I live in Kentucky we are having a cricket shortage here as well. I only have one cham so I buy from local pet stores. Last batch I bought(50) was on Thursday today is Saurday and most are dead.Laying on their backs and twitching.

Just checked because I was curious.

These are the black field crickets.

I wonder how much of a difference it is nutrition wise to the brown version we typically use.

Also, it doesn't really look like those would be SLOW to breed for cricket breeders :D

My parents used to tell me about the time they lived in San Antonio and there was the (what turned out to be) annual cricket migration. "Bug slick on the road" was the term Dad used. My Mom was utterly creeped out by it.

I suspect the black crickets will be adopted by cricket farmers as the new staple.
