Toungue problems

My boy is 8 months old and as of the last week somehow he must of injured his toungue because he won't use it and wouldn't even try. Today he actually wanted to try but after he popped it out an inch he couldnt go further. I felt so bad for him . He ate a medium sized horn worm on monday and he looked in pain while eating so I think it bit his toungue but not exactly sure if thats what caused it in the first place. I have always dusted accordingly and I see no signs of mbd. Does anyone have suggestions and ways to help him out or if its not an injury things I can try?
Thanks. Nate

It sounds as if it just started so he can go a bit without eating and it won't hurt him. Is he drinking? Is there anyway for you to see inside of his mouth and check for any type of injury? Maybe get him to gape somehow so you can try and look in his mouth. When is the last time you changed out your uvb bulb? I am sure you are gutloading and you said you are dusting properly so most likely that is not the issue at hand.

He is still eating a bug or 2 a day but he has to grab it with his mouth. The UVB is going to be replaced at the end of month.

My guys still having issues with his tongue. He hardly eats and when he does he try's to use his tongue still but after a few trys just grabs it with his mouth. He now will no eat crickets and has become even more picky now. I don't know what's wrOng or what to do

have you taken him to a vet?
A sudden loss of tongue use is usually due to an injury, one that may require medication or other assistance to properly heal.

No I wanted to wait but it's not improving so ya I probably should take him. Anyone know a good chAm vet in north San Diego area?

I really cannot stress enough the importance of getting your cham to the vet ASAP - my male panther would not still be with me had I not done so!

Sorry, I don't know any vets in San Diego.
