Tricks For Unloading New Crickets

I got a box of 250 crickets from Fluker Farms and as soon as I sliced open the box, boom crickets. Don't know what I expected but that wasn't it. They are nicely layered between egg cartons and thin cardboard but, does anyone have any tips on how to get them all out of there successfully? I'm housing them in a cricket keeper and lost about 30 or so in the driveway upon transfer.

Thank you all.

That sucks. I've heard of people opeing them up in the bath tub. When I get my order, I open it inside of my large atorage bin I got from Home Depot. No escapes that way.

Open and empty the box inside a garden-size trash bag, shake all the crix off the egg crate, and then easily pour them into whatever housing container.

What I do is just open the bottom of the box over my container but not all the way to get all the losse ones then I shake it to get rest out

I always get my crickets from a local pet store, but hear everyone talking about getting them delivered. I looked it up on the site Flucker Farms and they only ship to the states, does anyone know of Canadian shipping options??

I get a 20/30 gallon tote, and slice the lid of and shake them all out.

The fun begins when you get an order of 250 dubia, in lizard shipper cloth bags, with newspaper wadded up inside. Now that took along time to sort out.

I use rubbermaid totes. I open both the first 2 flaps and only the one of the second flaps then I shake the box upside down. the egg crate usually comes out with the crickets and its pretty easy to do without loosing any. I lost more than half of my 1st box of 1000. (steve was chasing them while I freaked out. Luckly he caught most of them) I got the rubbermaid tubs and I have been pretty good about not loosing any and we order 10,000 crickets now. That would be alot of loose crickets :S

Another good way is put them in the fridge for a couple of minutes, that will slow them down and not as jumpy. then any other method stated here will work. But i've always put them in the fridge for 5 minutes and they quiet right down.
