Trouble feeding

I just bought my first juvenile veiled chameleon 5 days ago. His enclosure is the right temp and size but for. Some reason feeding has been a pain. He old responds to free roam food, which makes it very hard to keep track of what he eats. I have only seen him eat three wax worms and 1 super worm over these 5 days. He could have eaten more than that but I wouldn’t know. I tried feeding him with tweezers but he is very scared of them and runs away when I put them in the enclosure. I tried a cup but after putting super worms in it he shows no interest in the cup. What should I do?

do you have the cup up off the bottom? give it time he could be skittish of you opening his door. sometimes it takes them a while to realize that seeing you means food. my chameleons in the past eventually learned that as soon as they saw me with the cup they were getting fed. maybe try some crickets in a cup super worms don't move around much so maybe they are not getting his attention? I just got some little blade horned chameleons and they are shy. I got half of them feeding off tweezers just by letting a cricket loose near them with the tweezers and offering a second one with the tweezers slowly after they eat the first one, I don't bring the tweezers to them I just hold them in the cages where the chameleon can climb and reach the cricket. give it time you will get him to the point comes rushing to see what you brought him. good luck

Thank you for the help, I found out the problem. I was using a clear cup so he would go under it, see the bug and shoot his tongue at the bottom of the cup. I have now replaced it with a white cup and it seems to work. I am interested in taming him to the point were I can feed him with tweezers. How long did it take you to get to that point? And are there any extra things I can do to make him not scared of me?
