yeah, I think that's a good thing....I could be wrong, but I think you want them to get that spectacular color going. It might be that he does it when he's pissed off, so you won't see it all the time, but it's a plus, not a minus.

He is getting a new outdoor cage this weekend...So hopefully the nice sunlight will give him a growth spurt.

I swear this is an obbession. I already am planning for my next male. I have the lights from upgrading my males cage, and buying food in bulk is cheaper.
