Typical male veiled length...

I got Moe last year in February and I was estimating him at 2 months. So, if that is correct, that would put him just over a year now. Measuring him, he measures approximately 8 inches snout to vent and add tail he measures approximately a total of 16 inches (it's hard to be accurate with a moving cham). I have read that adult males can reach from 18 to 24 inches in total length (I beleive this is right). If this is true, then Moe either still has some growing to go or is a natural "shrimp". What I haven't been able to find is an actual age where the chameleon is supposed to stop growing completely. Does anybody have some insight on this? I'm just curious if he is done growing at the age of 1 or will continue to grow for another few months or year. I know he still sheds but I'm going to guess a shed doesn't necessarily mean he is growing, or am I wrong? Thanks for satisfying my curiousity.

On a side note, he may just not be a typical veiled. From most everybody's stories I read, he should be grumpy a lot more than he is. Instead, he is more than happy to climb on my hand when I stick it in front of him in the cage or take food from my fingers. Maybe I just lucked out and got a little guy without the little guy syndrome but instead has the nice guy demeanor. Either way, no regrets on getting him, that's for sure.

That's about the length my Luie was at a year old. Do you know how much he weighs? Has he been checked for parasites? They grow up to 18 months old and continue to fill out all through life. My blog for new keepers is linked below so you can check and make sure you are doing everything correct for him.

You are the one person that I figured might be able to answer and I thank you for your reply. Really, I was just curious. I figured he is growing right and he is healthy and active. I have never got him weighed nor have I got him checked for parasites. He has never caused me to have any concern about those two things, though I probably should have done it anyway. I have learned a lot cruising through the forums here in the time that I joined. I started him off in an Exoterra glass terrarium and through the pages in the forum corrected all that right away. I even went as far this end of summer/fall to make him a sort of free range for when I can watch him and pruchasing a RainDome. His choice of feeders at times is rediculous and I have all the correct supplements. All due to this forum and the helpful people, experience, and advice found on it. Again, thanks for the reply.
