oh, no! my boyfriend thought that Karma was so cool, he bought himself a veiled cham! his name is Confucius. he's bigger than karma and healthy looking! Tim has spent ALL DAY while i was at work fixing up the cages so that every one is happy. Karma is in a smaller habitat and Confucius got the 65 gallon reptarium. There's also a ton more live plants in them! pic's to come soon!

It will be interesting to find out how many you will have in 2 years. LOL. Is there any cure for this addiction?

Debby:)

Hahahaha. My name is Cain and I am also addicted to chameleons hahaha. Cham lover I think death is my only cure.:)

Hahaha You are right kinyonga actually maybe I shouldnt laugh that doesnt sound very cool hahaha. That is why we have kids though to take care of us when we are old and when I forget they better put one in front of my face hahaha J/K on the kids thing:)

oh BTW, congrats on your new chameleon! Where did he get his cham from anyway?

surprisingly Petco. We found one that had a big healthy male veiled. The reptile guy there actually has a cham! they had a drip system and everything. even had his plant turned so he could hide if he so wanted. The guy was really cool. I found a screed thing to put on top of the 10 gallon aquarium, so Karma could be in a smaller area, and still have air flow. and my boyfriend said " what are we going to do with the empty 65 gallon?" i told his we could always get a new cham. there was like a 5 second pause and he said ok

just so I am clear... What cages do you have now?

i have a ten gallon aquarium with a 10 gallon screen top on it. (it's the same size as if you set 2 ten gallon aquariums on top of each other.) the top 10 gallons is wire mesh. thats where he spends most of his time. the 65 gallon is an apogee reptarium.

oh ok. My GF got one of those from Petco. we used it for a couple of weeks and then we got the 16x16x30 reptarium. The issue with the glass tanks are mainly to do with water build up. Please read up on Brad Ramsey's care sheet and if ya would like ideas from my setup send me a PM.

will it be an issue if i clean the tank once a week? i know that if it's longer the water can start to breed a ton of bacteria. once he starts to get healthier i was going to get one from LLL reptile.

Just make sure water doesn't collect. if you have a dripper, put a bowl under the dripper and put a screen over the bowl so your cham won't fall in. you will like the style of cage LLL Reptile sells.

we have 2 plants in there, so water collecting shouldn't be a problem. the dripper that's on it is set to super-slow and is above one of the plants. I'll definitely keep my eye on it though and clean it out more often if its needed. i hadn't really thought about it until now

Be sure to turn off the dripper at night. The roots of the plant can get rotten if they don't get time to dry out. My plants get 15 hours to dry out between misting sessions. I have lots of issues with these little nats flying around... Can anyone else give any ideas? I know its the water in the soil that allows them to breed... but how can I stop them from breeding?:mad:

there should be an organic spray that you could use. i'd check a health store or a natural food market. they have everything now a-days! I'll also ask my mom what to use that won't hurt the cham's

While your at it can you ask your mom where chams like to hide? My boy jake decided to skip out on me...... I am about 90% sure he didn't get outside... but i can't find him ANYWHERE! AAARRGGGGGGGGGGG:mad:

Summoner12- The general rule is to enter a room, and ssearch it from the top down. Literally, from the ceiling down. They climb curtains, and can be found on curtain rods, or in the folds of drapery swags. Hanging on the back of upholstered furniture. We found Guido in the clothes closet, amidst the hanging clothes one time years ago.

BUT, they can hide out down below, too. Guido's favorite place to hide was under the desk, hanging on computer cables. Look twice at each area, you may not see him the first time!

Let us know if you find him.
