Unhappy baby panther help .

Hey guys so this morning after he woke up was doing his rounds of the cage making sure nothin changed. When insane him ... What looked like yawn? I've seen him do it again since. And rubbing his eyes on sticks. Ad he has a patch if what looks like sand stuck to his head. And because there is no sand I'm gonna to lean towards shedding. A chameleons "yawn" is a face stretch correct? To help get skin off of their far when shedding? Correct me if I'm wrong and this is more severe

Edit: forgot to mention when he was basking was all puffs up and had a huge chin looking thing. Like he was fired up or something. Can a baby panther fire up before maturity?

That all sounds fine. The puffing up is a way to increase surface area to catch the most light / heat. Was he tilted on the side?

Did you see the changes I suggested above?

Yes I did thanks. I am going to go get a wider light fixture and a 60watt household bulb so I can lay it on the screen. And yes he was on his side as stated earlier to catch more heat! Very inrerestin. He will not eat from cup today. He ate one roamer I caught him earlier. And I showed him what's in the cup and then when I went in further to place it he scattered an ran to the other side of the cage. Where he has been since. It seems as if I can see in his face " get the f away from me" every time I are him lol. :(. But I just w
Keep making sure food is available and have been Leavjng the cup in all day excluding the night so he has as much time as needed. He just seems very stressed. I haven't seem him lightly colors since I first put him in his cage. Otherwise he ways has dark bars and or is dark

Great. My suggestion is once you get the basking setup down stop feeding him for 2 days. Get his metabolism going with the heat and then reintroduce the food cup. He will be ravenous and probably eat right away and break the cycle.

Are you sure? He has already been eating lightly for a week. Having had only one cricket. He actually knocked over the cup in the cage and ate a cricket that came out. I was astonished. But I will take your advice of you are sure that is not too damaging knowing he has been eaton lightly since I got him. I understand how this could work just don't wanna make him unhealthy

Edit: one cricket today saw I didn't say today in last post

Ya I wouldn't worry about starving him. Make sure the crix you DO use are gutloaded well. Also if anything the crix eat tastes odd then he may dislike it. For that problem, fruit as a gutload always works well for short term.

For the food bowl see here:https://www.chameleonforums.com/my-methods-part-2-chams-gettin-busy-kitchen-72401/

They fell in and just kept at it. Also a peek at the kind of feeding cup I use in heavily watered cages. Dries out quick and remains much cleaner. IF you are not using cups like this you are not doing it right :p

In the first photo you can see the wire attachment through the bottom right of the bowl.

You can attach it to the screen or a branch with a twist tie or zip tie (or just some string or wire I guess).

If the bowl is stable your cham will trust it much more. There must be good perches leading down to it from above. The tape around the sides prevents him from getting confused and shooting at the plastic.

So this morning after him only having one cricket in the last few days I woke up
To him shedding like crazy skin peeling off everywhere. So I up his cup in with six in it after showing it to him ( which made him flee) then places it in the cage. He has not shown interest or eaten yet. This is rediculous I just want him to eat and apparently that's too much to ask from him

You might be stressing out here. Once you see him eat 1 or 2 crix you need to remove all food from his cage and starve him for like 3 days. Then put the bowl back in and have just like 3 crix in there so it does not freak him out. Chances are very high that A your bowl is not right B there are crix hiding in the cage and he lis living off of them.
