haha, well i bought my light and vines from there, hope my cham doesnt die!

Ud be surprised, like when you purchase bedding of all sorts, there are spider or insect eggs, ESPECIALLY the moss, and i hope you washed the vines b cuz they can have bad shit on them, i wold definately never trust petco, i learned my lesson really quick with them.

damn well i kinda rinsed them first so i didnt have to mist it right away to keep things moist.. ahhh down with petco.

ha ha ha ha all you have to do is look at the website..............petco ha ha ha they are as i have stated in many forums terrible with all animals and murderers, whether it is intentionally or unintentionally they seem to be very good at killing all types of animals.

I happen to Like Petco. THey have a great return policy and most of the employees are knowledgeable unlike Petsmart. To each their own I guess..

but they order their stuff from somewhere else, so its not PETCO that carries "sh*t" as you put it, its the company that packages and produces.. That could be going to any store/chain. Just best to wash and sift through everything to be on the safe side, no matter where it comes from..

Lol well i have been to 3 different petco's and they knew abosultely nothing on how to have a safe environment for lizards they told me something different every time for 4 times in a row, so yes you may like them and you may have a good one but majoprity is trash, you cant argue with me about the enclosures they hold their reptiles in, go ahead and take pictures at you petco and post em up i gaurantee they will have 3 red tailed boa's in the same 18'' long 6'' high cage, or 2-4 iguanas in the same 18'' long 6'' high enclosure, it is disgusting how petsmart and pet co care........ dont care for their animals

I guess im lucky, a worker at the pet store by me kept chameleons in the past!!! She raised a male veiled to 8 years old! i was like when she told me!

When i was in there buying my 29g for my pygmy enclosure she was all concerned becuase i told her i was keeping chameleons in there, but i told her they were different than usual chameleon. I plan on printing a care sheet for her.

But for the most part the only time you get someone who knows what they are taking about when it comes to reptiles at a pet store, it is becuase they kep them for them selves.

I truly beleive that these chain stores need to have some regulated and standardized traning program for their employees that work in the reptile dept.

Lol well i have been to 3 different petco's and they knew abosultely nothing on how to have a safe environment for lizards they told me something different every time for 4 times in a row, so yes you may like them and you may have a good one but majoprity is trash, you cant argue with me about the enclosures they hold their reptiles in, go ahead and take pictures at you petco and post em up i gaurantee they will have 3 red tailed boa's in the same 18'' long 6'' high cage, or 2-4 iguanas in the same 18'' long 6'' high enclosure, it is disgusting how petsmart and pet co care........ dont care for their animals

Too many people handle their pets incorrectly, whether it be from stupidity or just being naive is unacceptable. A person should read thoroughly on an animal before getting it like many people do. It lessens the chance of death,sickness,or chance of injury to the animal and keeps the person less stressed about the animal, keeping in mind that the person SHOULD care about the animal.

Excuse me? I think you are taking this to a personal level now. Do not insult me. Just because the ones you may have encountered were not up to your standards, does not mean that ALL are that way. I did not say that I bow down to them or 100% agree. I said they have a good return policy. We do not have a Petco here where I am. There is one in Nashville and they were knowledgeable and helpful. Perhaps they should set the standard for your location? Perhaps if you are so fed up, you should do something about it rather than take your frustrations out on me for voicing MY opinion just as you voiced YOURS. It irks me that people can bash bash bash all day long but someone goes against the grain and says something good, OMG its WW3. Chill.

The problem isn't in the indidual store, it is the corporate policy. I tried in Southern Calif and again in Montana to nicley explain how to care for both chameleons and bearded dragons. The manager agreed with me but said Co. policy tell then how to house animals. Even if they want to do it right the Corp. Management won't allow it. Our complaints should go to BOTH Petsmart and Petco Corp offices. I still doubt it would do any good.

Sounds like you are taking it a little perosnal, not me. I said that if you agree that they are treating them right you cant be able to take care of animals because they dont know how to. Plus i did try to fix their policy but the ASPCLA said i would have to take them to small claims court, no one seems to understand the fact that the chains policies are rancid and are killing these poor animals and the whole chain should be stopped if even one part of it is bad

Wana hear something sad?!?!?! i worte to their corporate office and all they said was sorry that you feel that way, and then the lady didnt even sign the letter, so much for even knowing how to run a business. I simply laugh at petco and pestmart because they are f*ckin idiots who kill animals and no 1 will stop them that has the power to, i have tried but i oviouly dont have enough power to stop them. OK so i need to further show you the disgusting SH*T that is at Petco, these are small pictures because i took them with my phone, but one of them is of the only chinese water dragon left when there used to be 5, and the CWD look to be on his way out, he is very imaciated. Another picture is of the cricket containers that normal pet shops have, except for the fact that i guess they ran out of cartons to they just filled the bags full of the crickets, i guess those are the type of crickets who dont need air. Plus the bags had to have been there for a couple of days because there was perculated water on the top of the bags and most crickets seemed to be dead. Lastly are the 3 red tailed boas (looks like one big one) there are all three coiled together and i guess the glass didnt fit correctly so some genius put cardboard to make the cglass snug, i guess the red tailed boas dont mind mold from the soggy cardboard.................... But yeah im wrong Petco knows what they are doing.

Ha ha ha talk about trying to make it personal, listen Babe you got your panties in a bunch cuz you got caught praising Petco and Petsmart, you really dont understand the terrible Sh*t they do to animals, so just accept the fact that you were wrong and those chains are horrible for animals, they are just to looking to make the quick buck and dont care about the animals. You can ask any one on this forum and 98% will feel the same way about me, because we have dealt with them before and now we are more knowledgible than they are! May b you need to read up on reptiles so you can understand how they treat the animals is wrong.
