Update on Algae.

Decided to post a new thread for the problematic little man.

We went to the vet today and it went well, asked for the person most experience with chameleons. He did a few X-rays to determine that Algae has an upper respiratory infection. We got 21 days worth of antibiotics and we hope that everything’s goes well. I asked if anything in my husbandry sounded off and he said no and that sometimes it can take weeks for reptiles to develops signs of sickness.

I’m happy I got the diagnosis, and a good bill of health besides the infection.

Here’s a few X-rays.

I noticed a huge difference in algae today. He seemed way more active and flared his colors at me. Surprising what one dose of medicine can do. I gave him his second dose and instead of spitting half of it out he took all of it like a champ. Watched him get misted as well and he licked water off his leaves like crazy. I have a dripper going 24/7 for him too so he can be adequately hydrated during this period of medication. Future looks bright for the little guy!

Awesome news! 💗 So glad your little guy is starting to feel better.

Never mind, his eyes are open. I had to take a second look.
It’s hard to tell sometimes 😁. His right eye I noticed this morning actually was open a bit too. His nose is up because I drop fed him right before that pic. He’ll keep it up sometimes but he’s been letting his head down recently.
