Hi
Just a quick update for those that are interested, I posted several days back about my Veiled named Houdini, he had broken his right back leg, and was looking at surgery today, the Vet called me on Monday and said that she had consulted with a Vet at the U.of I. and had decided to try a traction splint instead of surgery, the splint was placed on him this morning, he seems to be doing fine with it so far, his leg is almost imobilized. he still has grasping use of the foot but he can not really move his leg to use it, I need to keep an eye his leg for swelling today and need to make sure he has good grasp with his foot, she thinks it should heal in about 3 months and wants to see him back in two months barring any issues. I am glad he was able to avoid surgery, the Vet noticed a bruise on his right heel, this I as first suspected leads me to believe he got his foot caught possibly between some limbs in his cage, or in the branches of his one of his plants, I am hoping the splint is succesful....
