He ate 4 crickets today! and it made me happy. theres still 2 towards the bottom but he never goes down there.... he only tags the ones that climb up the sides.

And so this brings me to my next question... Do you guys just drop the crickets in and let them run wild or do you try to place them somewhere or even to the extreme would you move the cham to the lower area so he can spot them????
i mean this is only my second day so i may be getting a little crazy but i just figured he'd sense them and find them...

Also i think i have the gutloading process confused... Do I gutload the 5-10 im gonna feed him atm or do i gutload them all???

Thanks again, Devin

another question i forgot to add and i appologize for all the questions...
how old till i can bring him outside into the sunlight???

I took a small fairly deep plastic bowl and attached it to the wall. Make sure he has good access to it. I put the crickets in the bowl and they do really well with it. Some still get out but its much easier to keep track of what they are eating. I keep all my crickets gutloaded. Good luck

you will find a good mix of people who cup feed and free roam their crickets in their cages. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. it all depends on what your cham will allow you to do.

I free roam for one of my chams and used to cup feed the other. One liked it and the other didn't. I like to free roam the cricket as it will give the chams some thing to do. stalking. positioning, and shooting. it's really up to you.

As far as the gut loading. it is easier to gut load all at once.

Btw ... what do you mean by gut loading?

When I gut load my cricket I will have ong-choi leaves, papaya, different fruits and veggies for the cricket to eat. in addition to sprinkling some vitamins on the food. I also have cricket drink for moisture.

How are you gut loading your Crickets?

Hope that helps and I am glad your chams are eating....

see my answers below.
And so this brings me to my next question... Do you guys just drop the crickets in and let them run wild or do you try to place them somewhere?

I set the crickets in a cup that has some leaves and vines touching the top of the bowl. Some crickets will be able to jump and naturally climb higher allowing the baby to hunt.

I do this to all my baby chameleons to teach them to look first at the bowl before hunting. So, they will acclimate to cup feeding later on in their life.
Now my baby panther will perch on the cup every 8 am (that's his feeding time).

or even to the extreme would you move the cham to the lower area so he can spot them????

Noooo that's not a good idea.

I think you might be confusing the term gutloading and supplementing. Gutloading mean feeding your crickets with lots of goodness and fattening them up be4 they meet their doom :D.
I gutload all my crix everyday. So, i can have fat crix for my cham anytime i want.

Supplementing means dusting your crix with supplements (such as calcium and vitamin). I do dust all of my crickets very LIGHTLY. Some people here just dust 2/3rd of the crix.
Whichever suit your chams the best.

hi to start with i was putting a few crickets in with my wee man but couldn't see if he was eating them Then i was told not to leave the crickets in over night incase they bite him
So i got a very small tub & put 1 cricket in then placed it in front of him He scooped it up in 2 secs so i just do this a few times a day He usually takes about 5 a day at the minute & now he sees the tub coming & gets all excited
He cupfed very quickly tho we were lucky but if u persevere im sure u will manage
Its entirely upto u tho
Good luck
