URGENT--Chameleon Sleeping During the Day

Not when the room is 68 degrees, it won't.
But I've already told him that 1 100w would be better for his cham.
He is also going to have a vet check his cham, which may have an eye infection or sinus infection.

Must've missed that. 68F is still about 20C. Probably a good idea to have a vet check. Hope he's ok.

How's he doing today? You have received some good advice above and I don't have allot to add. Chameleons often don't like change but don't sit around in the daytime with their eyes closed. However my chams have when to sleep early on a cold cloudy day when it's darker that usual.

today he is looking better, he's basking, he had some leftover dubias from yesterday. I am going in right now with poop to have a fecal done and to schedule an appointment later in the week. Even if he's ok, cant hurt to take him for a checkup. I am sure that he had been sleeping, he was in his sleeping spot with sleeping colors and both eyes shut, even though I had my face right next to him. I turned off one of the basking lamps. Thanks for the advice guys. I really, really appreciate it.

Thanks for keeping us up to date.

It is much easier to successfully treat problems when you catch them early.

Update

Hey guys. We went to the vet today. Of course he decides to perk right up ten minutes before it's time to leave :p no complaining there. Vet said there are no visible issues that it might be stress even though he's eating and it could also be just a little under the weather. I mentioned the sinus thing he said they looked fine. Right now we are waiting for the fecal tests to come back and will take the necessary actions if he comes back positive for parasites or anything. Thanks for all the advice guys. Again, I really appreciate it.:D:D:D

Glad the vet saw nothing of obvious concern.

One thing that I had not noticed before is that his enclosure, although it is a good size, is on the floor.
That's a bad place for it.
In nature, chameleons intentionally live higher up than predators.
It will benefit him if his enclosure is put on top of something sturdy, so that he can be above your eye level.

Hopefully, since you removed the extra basking light and if you raise his cage up, he will get back to normal.
