So my eggs are one day old and all 64 veiled eggs look to be very caved in?? And on top of that my midlands dwarf chameleon past away today very very upset. Bad day. Please help me what I should do with eggs.
Eggs are in vermiculite incubating at 30 degrees Celsius.
It's true that dryness can cause them to dent. But these are the same ones that where in the wet mud? I wouldn't think that dryness would be the problem.
Are the eggs really white? Or do they have a yellow tint? Picture?
Are all the eggs dented? It's just my expearence that eggs that dent so close after being laid are not fertile
my gecko eggs caved in, I added more moisture to the hatch rite and they all plumped up within a couple hours, and all eggs hatched and babies were healthy!!!
They are still very white in color but just they dented. These are the same once that we're laid in wet mud but I think the vermiculite dried them out so I have put a few drops of water on each one and hopefully it comes right
don't water the eggs directly, you want to wet the hatch rite or whatever the eggs are on!!! I also was told I could take a damp paper towel and lay it over the eggs to help, but that made me nervous so I made the hatch rite wetter!!!
I've had eggs dent in after a few months but they were too dry... After one day if they are not fertile they will shrivel up and mold quickly I would not throw them out till I see the mold
Usually you can take vermiculite that is wet and squeeze the majority of the water out with your hands and the vermiculite stays moist but not soaked. This method has worked for me. Please give us an update and post pics if you can.
