Usable trees from Madagascar?

I know this is likely weird to most, but I am setting up a bioactive cage with a living wall.

The strange part is I want to deviate from the Pothos/Ficus/Umbrella plants idea. I want a main center peice tree that is found in Chameleons Natural Habitat, Panthers habitat.

I know Baby Tears are, and have those on my list. However I am wanting a center piece tree that represents Madagascar.

Vines and such that are found there would also be nice as well :).

I use Baby Tears in my Viv for my Madagascar Giant Day Geckos! It is very pretty and green! Dwarf Baby Tears is nice also and can be kept non submerged! My only thing about the Baby Tears is that crickets love to eat it and over time they ate all the Baby Tears! They also like a lot of light and humidity! But I am sure you already knew all that! (not being sarcastic, just going off all your input you have given me about chams) so I figured you have done your research! I have found my Baby Tears to grow best using the Jungle Dawn from Todd at Light Your Reptiles! Cant wait to see what you come up with! =]

I will have 4 jungle dawns :) and a T5ho grow light, across both cages (2 leds each, though the bars no the spots).

It looks like I am not going to be able to find a workable center peice :( so I decided this for now, though subject to change.

I still need to look into the care of some, just surfed the safe plants list and picked the pretty ones hehehe :).

Centerpieces.
Draceana
Hawaiian Ti Plant (Pink)

Vines.
Cissus (discolor, Rex Begonia Vine) (silver and green)
Pothos
Monstera deliciosa
hoya

Fillers/Wanders.
Wandering Jew (Purple Heart Queen) (purple, really purple :).)
Baby Tears
Spider Plant
Sword fern

And some assorted Air plants to fill some gaps. I may also add some small carnivorous plants :).

And I dont feed crickets indoors no more, too many crickets in my house so no worries about that :). I have heard chams love to eat baby tears as well though.

True trees will be difficult. I've had this idea myself and Madagascan plants aren't common. There are a few palms, but your best bet are Medinilla, which are more of a woody shrub. They will get small tree sized and develop woody trunks, as thick as your wrist, but that will take a few years. There are some sundews and a Nepenthes species, native to Madagascar. If you care to "cheat", ficus species are pan tropical and will be represented in Madagascar, even if we don't have the exact species in cultivation.

Big fan of the bio active vivs, slowly transitioning all mine over as I get more active soil going. The wandering jew will wonder indeed, if if gets high light the root structure will take over from everything else unless your potting it, love that purple though!

Ya it will be in a pot at first if it wanders its roots down though I wont stop it :).

And yep I plan to do them all, I am even trying to work out a method to even do the baby cages without wasting too much electricity. Maybe I will plant them with Dandelion or something so that its useful plants year round.

Oh if you can get a dragons blood tree do the bonsai to it that would be SWEET!

super agree sadly those trees are endangered or so I read so that wont be happening anytime soon :(.
