UVB 10.0 or 5.0?

While I was changing my UVB light yesterday, I noticed that the old one is a 10.0 and its a short tube around 45cm. The new one is much longer and its a 5.0 - is the only difference that the 10.0 can emit UVB light much further than the 5.0? Or is there something else that I should know? Can too much UVB light cause a problem for chameleons, like damage their skin or eyes?

The 10.0 puts out more UVB than the 5.0. I believe this is the only difference.

And yes too much UVB can be harmful. However, it is unlikely that using a single 10.0 bulb will cause problems, especially if your setup is densely planted allowing them to escape some of the rays if they wish.
