Is 9’’ away from the branch, it’s a t5ho zoomed 14’’ with a 5.0 uvb bulb and 60watt basking bulb.

how old is the chameleon? >6 months should be in the low 80s, <6 months that temp is perfect for the basking spot

Actually that would be a temp for a mature cham. Typically over 12 months. Do you have a male or a female? Typical temps would not exceed 85 degrees at basking for a juvenile (6months). If it is younger (3 months) then not hotter then 82. If you have a female your temps would be different as well.

It is 3 months and it’s a male.

So you want to keep temps more like 82 for him for another month then you will be able to up it to 85 at basking branch. So if you have a digital reader with a probe I would hook it in at the basking branch below the heat to see what your getting.
