Uvb dome or hood?

I have a 18x18x36(I do plan on upgrading to a bigger size soon as shes growing) for my female Jackson. Was wondering what uvb everyone would suggest? I have a 5.0 repti sun in my hood(it's a fish tank hood so is it ok to use?) otherwise I just have the deep dome style 5.0 uvb. I try to angle both a little bit into the basking spot. With the hood light I noticed she was tending to go to sleep an hour or so before her normal time so could it be too much uvb? I returned to the dome one and her sleep seemed to go back to normal but I'm worried it's too little uvb.

linear hood is much better. old compacts were hard on their eyes, new ones are said to be better. but either way the compacts provide a spotlight of uvb where as the tube can cover all or most of their enclosure and more uvb is always better, as long as they have places to hide from it if they want. not sure about the sleeping thing dont think it would be from too much uvb, if anything it would be the other way around. is your tube left over from the fish tank? may be old and not producing uvb any more. unless it's a brand new bulb I'd suggest buying a new one. there isnt any glass/plastic between the bulb and the screen is there? that could be filtering out uvb too. but that fixture is better than a dome.
