UVB Light Fixture

Today my linear UVB light fixture finally shipped in. Up until now I've had to use the compact bulbs. The fixture I got is used for fish tanks, and my question is about the inside of it. I'm wondering if I need to put reflective tape on the inside. It is just white and doesn't have anything reflecting the light downwards. I wasn't sure if that's a big deal or not. I don't want to be wasting any rays that he could benifit from. So let me know your opinions. Any feedback would be appreciated.

In my opinion if ur gonna set the light on top of the cage u dont need tape as long as the perch is under 8 inches from it ,if ur gonna hang it above the cage then I would put reflecttive tape on it that is my opinion good luck

Thanks for the replies. I think I might just leave it as is. Although I ran into a problem last night. I have Bodhi's lights and mister on a timer. I didn't get home until about 1:30 last night, and when I walked in his UVB light was on. Apparently it doesn't work with a timer. Which blows because I had been waiting on this for months. I have no idea what I'm going to do now. The only kind of fixtures I can get are the aquarium ones. Petland had ordered it for me because I had store credit. They won't give cash back. I'm afraid I'm going to go through 10 of these before I find one that works with a timer. It's just been one of those weeks where everything is not working out. So it's just one more thing to worry about. I will have to find time tomorrow to get this straightened out. He is in his adult cage now and I feel like he isn't able to get optimum UVB from a dome fixture. What brand fixtures do you guys use? Maybe I can cut out the guess work if someone knows of brands that work with timers.

I'm curious... Why doesn't the fixture work on a timer? What kind of on-off switch does it have? If you can't use it on a timer, that is a serious problem––at least it would be for me.

If the light was still on I am almost certain it is not a problem with the fixture but instread you timer settings.
