Vailed or Panther?

i made a few hundred bucks profit of my last clutch of veileds. it can be done. but don't expect it to be a good source of money. i call it "charging my pets rent." i do it as a hobby and a way to pay for my pets expenses. its mostly waiting for eggs to hatch then being very attentive until they're a month old. as they grew, i sold more, to make room for the rest. it made me feel awesome at an animal swap i took my prized holdback male, Orbit Jr to show off. several people asked me if i'd sell him while i was walking around, but i wouldn't. just knowing i helped raise such a fine and desired cham is a great feeling. I hope all goes well with my second generation that was just laid :D
if you want to do it for fun, go for it. just do lots of research and feed the pregnent cham less and keep her at lower temps. big clutches mean more stress for you, and very hard on the female.

i want to get an octopus someday. no money or room right now though. i always heard cuz they're so smart they can literally become bored to death. is that true (the dying part i mean, i already know for a fact they're smart)

Yeah, it's true you have to give them toys to play with so they don't get bored. But just watching them is amazing. And seeing the babies is so freaking amazing to.

that is so cool! one day i'll afford the setup and the space for one. i've seen videos of them learning by watching other octopi. so cool.

If your trying to decide what to keep and breed. Panthers and Veileds are very similar in care and breeding. Veileds need slightly warmer temps. and they have more eggs in general. However, panthers are my favorite because I like all the different locales. Best of luck to you.

I have one of each a panther male and a veiled male. I say get them both if you can afford them :) I'm not breeding though mine are just pets. I agree that research should be done if your planning on breeding because I hear many problems can arrise. Just be sure to know what your doing so you keep your chams safeand healthy!
