Thanks to forum member, Biffle, I've learned how to produce super worm larvae. You get one of these:

And place one worm per compartment. Within a certain amount of time they'll morph into their larvae stage and then you can throw them into a separate container to live out the rest of their cycle.

Thanks, Biffle!!

Yes, seperating is the key. In a group, superworms will not turn to beetles, but once seperated they'll change. Place the beetles together in another container and you'll have all the supers you need.

Dont supers eat their young? They are not a perpetual motion machine like meal worms or dubia where you just have a box and throw in food and out comes meat. I believe you have to treat them like crickets almost.

Ding, ding, ding! Where were y'all like 5 months ago?!? Lol :D

Another tip - the beetles will eat the eggs/young so every couple of weeks its a good idea to move them to another container.

I did this, and the all changed to beetles, but within a week they all died? it takes a long time for them to change- but when I found out she wont eat them anyway- I gave up  right now I am playing with growing mantis- but I think I have more baby mantis and fr/ flies running around in the house, than in the little cages I made for them- good thing I wont try breeding roaches :p

How do you mean?

Supers are a current project I am working on and I have not had the time to do the research i need to do but I have about 1000 adults now and need to start working on there breeding
I was not here 5 months ago and missed it I guess

I'll start this process probably over the weekend with separating them and see what happens. It has been proven to work, so we shall see... :)

Here is the primer.

1) Fat adult super worms, put into the individual sections as noted.

2) supers turn into alien looking things (this is NOT overnight)

3) aliens turn into nasty black beetles

4) remove beetles put them in a container of oatmeal or wheatbrand(this is what I use)

5) add egg cartons for beetles to lay eggs.

6) feed beetles and wait for babies (VERY LONG TIME) I use carrots and sweet potatoes, never wet food.

7) just when you want to toss them since nothing is happening, take a small amount of the brand out, put it on a white sheet of paper, spread it very, very thin. look for tiny worms smaller that 1/2 a grain of rice

8) put the babies back in and let them grow

9) I take babies out as needed otherwise, I clean the mess move all the babies and let the beetles start all over again.
