Veil Turns brown and black

Confused

So i dont get what i was doing wrong in the first place the clamp light which holds 75 watts and shoots red light should be on at all times while the uvb light turned off? i can send pictures just want him safe eh

You can use regular household light bulbs for a basking bulb. So you should have a UVB bulb and a white basking bulb on the top of your cage. Both of these should be on for 12 hours a day at the same time and then no lights at night. I'd start with a 40watt basking bulb and see what temperatures you get with that. I doubt you'll need a higher wattage (which puts off more heat) in a small glass cage like that. Take away the red light completely as you do not need it. The daytime basking light should always be white light.

Also you are going to need a larger cage for him in the very near future. He's already pretty much outgrown the one he's in.

Ok but if the tempurture drops below 65 im going to use the red clamp light dont need little zen freezing

I just said the lights are on a 12 hour on, 12 hour off schedule.

NO RED LIGHT.

a regular light bulb for basking.

JUST read what we posted.

I doubt that it will in a glass cage. Those retain heat very well. My glass cages (with Pygmy chameleons) don't drop to 65 even when the rest of the house is 60. He would be fine down to 60 even. Also the red light will keep him awake at night so it's really not the best choice for night heating, as I said in the long post full of information on the previous page. Please read through the rest of what I posted as well. Your supplementation and gutloading are lacking and will have a detrimental affect on Zen's health.

Cami - calm down.

No your not.

they can do temps at night below 65, even down to 55.

they need DARKNESS to sleep at night.

if temps drop below 55, then use a ceramin heat emitter, it screws into a lamp likea bulb, but emits no light.
