Veild question

We have a veiled male that lives in our living room. His home is in the corner away from traffic but we live here too. He seems to accept our movements during the day. I make sure that we keep noise and activity down around him. He has a set schedule and gets in his sleep corner about the same time every evening before lights out. We turn down the room lights in the late evening and he has total dark and quiet when we go to bed. So far he seems to have adapted, coming to the front door and watching us sometimes, ignoring us other times. Every chameleon is different and will adapt to some degree. Not being an expert, I would say you have to watch his behavior and see if he shows signs of stressing. If he does, move him or change your routine in that room. I would think that there should be adequate periods of quiet day and night? Maybe it would not bother him too much when you do have to be in the room. Just be sure that there are not loud noises or drafts, frequent pet movements, bright lights on all hours, and that he is high up in the room so he feels safe. I would hate to put our boy in another room all by himself where he would be away from us. But that's just me.

Yeah my little son like to go near the cage a lot but he's not shifting colors and me constantly moving around

They like to be left alone, for the most part. If you think it may be stressing him out, it is a possibility. Try a quieter place in the house and see if his routine/colors change over the course of a week.

My veiled seems to love us being around, he wants to come out of his enclosure when he sees us....his enclosure is in the office here at home and that is where I am every week day.....on weekends we go in and see him regularly and let him out.

Do you guys think this could affect his growth because he only shed once and that was 2 weeks ago

How old is he? You may want to fill out https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/ on general husbandry to get your husbandry double checked by the more experienced members.

Also, aren't chameleons believed to be deaf? So loud noises wouldn't bother them as long as the vibrations are low i.e. don't have a sub woofer next to the cage.

I was just wondering because the guy I got him from still has the father veild and he sheds every week which is kind of weird

First, My little guy doesn't shed that often, and he is still growing! Yes, they are deaf, so you are correct about the noise and vibrations. As long as the enclosure is off the ground high enough and there are enough places for him to hide and seek shelter, he should not be stressed to share the space. Pictures are better than descriptions so we can see any potential issues and offer better advice!
