ive had my veiled for about 6 months and never noticed this before btu tonight while laying in bed around 3am i heard a thud from his cage, he fell to the ground and then ran up to the top of his cage and just kept running laps around the top of the cage. ive had many chams before and have never had this happen so it has me worried. hes a very healthy guy eats and has no signs of any illness. any insight would be much appreciated he seems to still be runnin around his cage now and its been an hour.. thanks

Is there anything in the cage that could have bitten him? Left over feeders etc?

Is your room still bright when he grows to sleep so it isn't really dark in the enclosure?

Did he fall, or did the plant etc that he was on break?

i wasnt paying attention but the enclosure is pitch black the entire time hes supposed to be sleeping, there is nothign left over or nothing to break, i was laying in bed on the phone with my gf and heard a thud looked over and he was making a mad dash back up the screen, he seems to be alright btu he has just been running all over his enclosure for the past hour and a half , its really weird he wont relax n go back to sleep... hes been crawling around the ceiling for the past 10 mintues just back n forth

It seems like something has 'spooked' him. What are his colours like? No idea what or why (you'll have to keep a close eye on the enclosure and see if there is the odd cricket in there taking a nibble on your guy) but he won't settle for quite a while until he checks his territory out. What time is it wherever you are?

his colors are dark u can tell hes def not psyched its 430am here right now , he seemed to chill out a little but hes still stresssin crawlin around, n i noticed, it looks like his balance isnt on point like hes tryin to climb from branches to other ones that he cant reach but for the most part hes stayin on the screen doing laps,,, this is so odd

When do his lights come on? What are the temps like now? Try and make it as dark as possible and drop the temp a little. This'll make him calm down a bit and hopefully get him to think about sleeping again.

In the morning, see how he's moving. Particularly check his legs and if he will come out for a walk, check his grip, to make sure everything is ok. Also, give the enclosure a good look over to see if there were any causes other than just the cham falling, as it shouldn't really happen when they're sleeping unless there's something up with them. If he did just fall, there may be something wrong, so get some pics and fill out one of the help forms you can get in the health clinic bit of the forum. People should be able to help better with all the information from it!

Here's the post I was on about:

"Here is some recommended information to include when asking for help in the health clinic forum. By providing this information, you will receive more accurate and beneficial responses. It might not be necessary to answer all these questions, but the more you provide the better. Please remember that even the most knowledgeable person can only guess at what your problem may be. Only an experienced reptile veterinarian who can directly examine your animal can give a true diagnosis of your chameleon's health.

Mystery! I hope nothings wrong, maybe he sensed something? earth tremors in your area?

Maybe its just something difficult to see in poor lighting? Tiny black ants?

That just happened to me tonight. We heard a thud and it was our (possibly) 5 month old Cham on the floor. And last time I looked she was hiding somewhere in the leaves in the back for the night. And then she was running to the top like yours and we took her out to see if she was okay and she was running laps like crazy and still is. ( we did like you said to turn all the lights off) and now we're waiting to see when she's going to calm down. Her grip seems fine and nothing seems wrong with her but she's going crazy all over the cage. I think they're might have been two crickets left hiding in the leaves or she saw our ball python. Idk which. But we put a cover over the side of the snakes cage so if it was that.
How is yours?
