Veiled aggression / attempted murder

my female only turns dark outside. when she's made she stays her bright green. I tried breeding her when she was receptive and she would walk to the male sit in front of him, showing her blue and yellow spots when the male would move she would turn around and bite him. Never changed colour, never puffed up, nothing just bit him. He's huge compared to her and she eventually had him by the leg in a corner but she was all calm and still showing respective colours. I think my girl is just mean.

gotta watch that one.
i just got a 2-3 month old ambanja that is a vicious little thing. even though she is the size of my pinky finger lol

Some good stories lol,
I have 2 veiled, 2 faly and 2 ambanja and none of them act that way. maybe a body puff or grunt but never lunging forward with a gaping mouth.

So no one has experienced cham attachment where they would try and defend thier human?

As chams are not social creatures it would be bizarre and unexpected for one to ever defend anything other than their territory. They don't really form strong social "attachments" to their own kind let alone a completely different creature. Sure, some chams don't mind their human keepers at all, but that is a very different thing than defending one from some threat.

My veiled has not bit or bit at me in a long long time. He knows I'm bigger, stronger and the guy with the food. its kinda like prostitution without all the secretions.

but my male will look and react to other people in a fashion that he does not act with me. so yea

My veiled will lung and attack me if I come to close to him near his basking spot. Today was cage cleaning day and I wear gloves while cleaning because he's tried to bite me before if I am cleaning and try to clean near his basking branch. Oddly enough, if he is anywhere else in his cage, he's generally pretty fine. he will gape and hiss if I come in to pick him up.

I call him my "Ornery Green Douche" when he get's into these 'tudes. My roomies will hear me and know exactly what just happened. "Oh, did Kukui try to kill you again? awwwwwwwww!"

I was thinking more on the lines of defending his food source and healer.
I originally posted this due to almost getting mauled at petco when I was being shown a baby veiled that had been injured.

Both of my Veiled are sort of the same way, they won't lunge but will puff up, never hiss or throw colors so I know its fine to grab them.
Its weird because now that I have 5 different species the vieled are still my favorite for some reason...
