Hey I'm new to keeping chameleons and wondered what a good setup would consist of and why (like a certain lightbulb for a certain temperature) and the cost of the item
Thank in advance

Here is our setup for boy George

For a lighting setup you need a basking spot with a plant stem/vine under the light and the uvb bulb somewhere over a place the Cham will be( like next to the basking spot for a little light over the whole cage for a big one) I got a connected light fixture made for this by zoo med. It was a while ago when I bought it but if my memory is correct is was about 15$. Maybe closer to 20$.

For a cage setup try your best to keep chameleon safe plants alive. note that hibiscus trees and many others need a lot of uvb light. They need a lot of plant fake and/or live along with vines and sticks to climb on. They like to be fairly hidden. This is my cage, I am trying to keep more live plants, well alive, to replace at least a section of the fake tree.

Ok thanks I will research more into lighting prices

I have a about 6 month old male veiled and i keep his basking at abt 95F and the cooler parts are about 70. The heat bulb i use is 75watts and i have a 6.0 UVB bulb. UVB bulbs need to be replaced every 6months because even though they still have light they dont spit out UVB anymore. He has a screen cage and i spray him 1-4 times a day with just like a hand spray bottle. i have 2 small cricket keeper cages and buy 40 to 45 crickets once a week. if theres any other questions you have im happy to help!
