I have a 4-6 month old veiled chameleon. As I look on this site I see chameleons of a large variety of colors. The only colors I've seen is a very light green to a darker green but nothing compared to the pictures I see on this site. Is it that my chameleon is to young?

Thanks

They do get much brighter with age but the difference between male and female is also very big. With the males being more colorful and the females being more subdued. If you have a male he should be showing more colors around 6 months, peaking at closer to a year when the reach sexual maturity.

A male will definitely start showing more colors with age, but if he is a he and is 6 months old he would be close to sexual maturity and showing his adult colors. If he is a she like the other post said she will remain for the most part light green with turquoise, and orange dots. But when she becomes gravid look out her colors will not only rival the males, but IMO outdo him.:D

Here is my male.. He is about 7mo. Getting prettier every day!

Here is my 8-9 month old. He was not nearly as colorful, often just solid green, when he was 6 months old.
