Veiled lighting

Howdy,
I'm switching to tube lights for my veiled since he is getting a wider cage. I'm given to understand that a grow light works for uvb and then a 5600 or 6700 (not sure) color temp light plus a basking spot light, is that about right? For the basking light, should I avoid one with uvb since he'll already have uvb?
Also, is there a minimum clearance from the roof for these lights for safety reasons?

Plant grow lights are UVA not UVB. A 6500k "daylight" bulb is also a good idea for the 2nd lamp.

The basking bulb can be a normal incandescent or a halogen, either with a reflector or just a round one. Just do a spot check that the basking area stays below 95F.

The tube bulbs dont have clearance, some chams will hang on the screen directly below the tubes to get warm. However the basking bulb needs to be setup so the cham cant get closer than the basking area so it doesnt get burned. The cham will get burned if it can get on the hood of the basking bulb or accidentally put its tail in it.

Yes, if you are going with normal T8 bulbs, a zoomed reptisun 10.0 would be a good choice for a single bulb.

If you are going to T5 HO bulbs, then look into some arcadia bulbs, either a 6% for a normal cage, or a 12% if its very tall or very well planted.

There isnt any for tubes, the hood can lay directly on the screen.

If you are talking about putting the lights inside of the chameleon house / cage. There is no clearance requirements for the tubes. The basking bulb should not be placed in the house. The chameleon can get burned by the hood of the basking bulb.
