I'm am very stuck between getting a veiled or a panther it will be my first Cham but not my first reptile so i don't know what to get my girlfriend wants me to get a veiled and it's name would be paskel or something and they are amazing but I like the size of what the panther gets someone help me out please thank you

Panthers I've heard are not as grouchy and come in a wide array of colors. Veileds are pretty but I would side with a panther. Show your girlfriend all the available locales of panthers.

Pretty much comes down to personal choice. They're both great choices, and you'll probably end up with another after you're comfortable taking care of your first one. :) I'd go with the veiled to keep your girlfriend happy, and when you're ready for your next cham, they're addictive LOL, get the panther for you. Unless you're absolutely heart set on getting a panther, then show the GF all the beautiful colors that panthers can have, and maybe she'll come around.

I have both and I can honestly say panther. My vieled is super mean. I have hand fed him as a baby and handled him to try and tame him. I could not break him despite my efforts! On the other hand, my panther seems to be more receptive to being held. I am not saying all veileds will/are this way, but this is the experience I've had thus far.

My first was a veiled and i thought my 2nd would definitely be a panther. After having the veiled Im actually considering a second veiled.

Can't speak for a panther. I wanted one but didn't want to drop 300. I've had two veileds. My female was a little nicer.

My male definitely has some cooler colors. Hes a little cranky when I take him out but once out he's ok. Hes a monster though. Gettin big!

I would have to say that price was the driving force for getting a veiled. He is not a friendly guy but he is still awesome and I love taking care of him. My first boy was a veiled also I made many mistakes and unfortunately he passed away but after joining here have learned a lot and hopefully Omar will benefit from that. I don't take him out as much as I used to because he just does not like being removed from his cage. Also once out he is ok but always seems to be relieved to go back in. I am working on setting up a free range outside the door of his enclosure just to give him more space, but truly taking him out and holding him etc is more for me than him which is selfish a little but I try to justify it by using this time to really watch how he moves, how his legs work, and weighing him. It is getting colder out and my house is drafty so he won't be out as much.

All that said, I am planning on getting a couple more, I want a nosy be and I am on a wait list here for a panther cross. It won't be for a while which will give me time to get all the supplies I need. Another thing to consider is a male or female of the species you choose. Males tend to have more color and with females you have to be concerned with egg production, laying etc. even if they are not with a male.

I would get a panther... Unless you have expirence with a veileds special needs attitude then good luck holding him or her. Panthers are generally much more friendly. Whatever you choose ... PLEASE buy from a breeder, all of the site sponsors are great people. If you can't find one just pm me because I can name an endless list of who has baby chams right now.
