Veiled refresher?

Hello! I have returned from my chameleon hiatus! After the loss of my Jackson,Cassidy, I needed a break! Back with an impulse purchase of a juvenile veiled. Where can I find a good refresher on veileds? Mainly looking for temps, humidity, and supplements. Thank you! Meet Frenchie!

I’m so sorry about Cassidy. It’s good that you took time to heal from his loss. 💗
And a big welcome to Frenchie…handsome guy. 😊 Veileds aren’t all that different in husbandry than Jackson’s. Daytime basking temps for a male is around 82-85. Ideal daytime humidity is between 30-50%. At night if you can achieve temps below at least 68, you can boost humidity as high as you can with a fogger to reproduce the hydration cycle in the wild thru fog. Supplements will be a phosphorus- free calcium without D3 at every feeding and then one feeding every other week (or twice a month if you prefer) you’ll use a combination multivitamin/D3 like Repashy calcium plus LoD or ReptiVite with D3. I would say to add more branches to his enclosure. There’s https://dragonstrand.com/dragon-ledges/ or whatever you can come up with. I’ve been using garden trellis attached to the frame with thin wires, which works quite well and has a nice look to it. Do you have any other specific questions? Just ask away. :)

Thank you!! For all of this! I had a veiled prior to Cassidy (Rico- I believe he was five when he passed, had a cancerous growth in his abdomen and passed after surgery to correct) but so long ago I definitely could not remember all the details! I will definitely be adding branches, plan on baking them tomorrow. Today was definitely an impulse purchase, kind of couldn’t help seeing him in a small enclosure at Petsmart, knowing I had everything at home just sitting there. I had been thinking about getting another for a while but kind of fought it off. Today I was like ok I’m doing it! Left the store with him and set this up on two hours . Your set up is amazing! I’ll definitely be popping into the forums to participate and ask questions! I have missed my hobby and the forums. Definitely glad to be back.

Beautiful sub adult male you have there. @MissSkittles already covered all your basics for a veiled. Note to just really watch how close he can get below the basking fixture. looks like he can get closer on that side. Depending on bulb wattage you are using if it is too strong then he is going to be higher risk for a thermal burn to the top of his casque than other species.
