Veiled sleeping a lot

I got a Veiled Chameleon off of Craigslist. The guys said he was a female about 10 months old. He said she has never laid eggs before so I dont know if she is really a she. Rango doesnt have spurs on her legs. She hisses and has a bad attitude unlike Iggy. She also has a lot more color than my other Veiled Chameleon. I purchased her a week ago. At first she kept pacing on a vine close to the top of the cage. She did that for 3 days and she'd sleep there. Now for 2 days straight she has been in her plant sleeping and not eating. Does anyone have any ideas?

id say give her time to adjust to the new home. my cham went on hunger strikes before. maybe the previous owner didnt feed her daily or as much as youve been feeding her.

Sleeping in the daytime is not a good sign. Has she had a laying bin at all times? She could be egg bound or sick with another illness. I would recommend a vet visit and get her plenty of outside time in the shade of course in an all screen cage. Please fill out the ask for help form and post some pictures of her.

My panther does the same thing - and if I walk by to do something else in the room he gives me the evil eye because I woke him up . . .

Rango is in an extra large screened cage. I believe its Exo-terra. I got her a week ago. I was told she was 10 months old. I was also told she has never laid eggs. She hisses all the time when I mist her. The temps and humidity are perfect. She has a large Hibickis (sp) plant with vines. She was eating 8 crickets a day until 2 days ago. I am going to give her an egg box. My only concern with that is she looks like a "he". She is a very dark green with blue and yellow markings. I would post a picture but I am using my smartphone at the moment and cant figure out how to post a picture. Im just concerned because my 8 month old Cham, Iggy has already laid eggs once and is bigger than my new one. Iggy is also a very light green and very active. Tomorrow when I get my laptop out I will post a photo. Thanks eeryone for the advice.

If there are no spurs on her back hind legs then you have a girl :) I agree with jannb, sleeping during the day is definitely something that indicates a problem. I would seek a vet's opinion. Hope things improve for you!

Cant view the link :C
Does she have any spurs on her back feet?

Same here, dont have facebook. Facebook is evil! Its also better if you put the images here so people do not have to chase down photos on other websites. I tend to check a lot of forum posts each day between the 5 or so forums I am active on- its a hassle to follow a link to facebook (or wherever), come back and comment. Especially a place like facebook where you have to log in- plus, it is nice to have all of the information here so that the thread is self contained. That's all.

It would really help if you posted some photos here (I link my photos from my photobucket account. They have an android app that makes it very easy to upload photos). Also, its would help if you followed Jann's suggestion and fill out "the form". We could bound back and forth all day but capturing all of the information on "the form" really helps identify where problems might be.

Personally, if my cham was sleeping during the day I would be concerned and would try to make a vet appointment.

Update on Rango. Rango has ate 2 crickets today and is climbing on a vine. I am sorry I didnt use the "form" I am new to this site. Also I put a breeding box in the bottom. Rango seems not to want anything to do with it but we'll see what happens. Here are some pics that everyone was asking for.

Rango is a pretty little girl and she does look to have eggs. Give her plenty of privacy and hopefully she will lay them very soon.

Just wanted to add to make sure the laying bin in large enough. Veileds like to dig deep and I recommend 10 to 12 inches deep. Also they are picky about the moisture. It needs to be mosit enough to hold a tunnel without it caving in on them. I usually take a spoon and dig one to the bottom to make sure it holds a tunnel and I leave the hole and sometimes my females with use it.
